See you there!
Boarding Period: 4.5 days
Boarding Requirements: Cage, with extended playarea for daily exercise.
Rabbit: Buck Chang (Female, 8mths old, white/grey)
Sterilized: No (but I have advised owner to consider sterilization)
Health Conditions: Front splayed legs. Mild sore hocks.
Special Note: My personal goal is to improve living conditions for her splayed legs & advice owner on the appropriate care.
1st day of Boarding.
She arrived in the night looking insecure & unsettled by the car ride. But after abt 30mins, she started to settle in, ate some pellets & munched a little hay. I kept her in the cage for the night to let her feel safe in the new environment.
The next morning, she was ready to come out & explore!
Her front paws are a little splayed so it looked like she was swimming while hopping around.
And when she stood still, they always slide apart slowly.
She was a curious little bunny & was quite active.
“I see 4 bunnies in the other room. Should I go investigate???? Heehehe”
She decided to explore the rest of the house instead. Haha
I decided to clean out the PVC mat for her to see if it helps with her posture.
But at first, she didnt want anything to do with it & decided to chill out in the cage instead for the rest of the day.
I left the cage door open throughout the day.
P.S – placed a towel on top of the cage. Just in case, she jumps on top of it. I dont want her legs to get caught in between the cage grills as it might cause injuries. Prevention better than cure.
Some time in the evening, she felt more comfortable that the blue mat is not going to hurt her. Haha
She came out to survey her new blue mat.
Decided that the blue mat is worth marking as her new territory, she peed and pooped on it. =p
However, the blue mat wasnt much help w her slightly splayed front legs.
When she laid down to relax, the front legs always slide outwards (which she kept adjusting them back to a proper position). Poor girl…
Gave her a few wheatgrass to try out & she loves it!
So I added a small bunch of wheatgrass to her daily veggie serving.
She hasnt had wheatgrass before, so I had to start introducing it to her in small amounts & make sure she is ok w this new veg.
Yum yum. She loves it! And her tummy adjusted well to the new veg. =D
Her owner requested for a bath. And she was quite calm throughout.
Please note that rabbits generally do not need baths as they clean themselves very often (do read more about Bathing Rabbits here).
Here she is. Freshly showered & ready for blowdry.
While drying her with the towel, she buried her face against my arm and gave me a few licks. AWWW!
Trying to clean herself. Hehehe
And also, while standing or resting on the towel, her front splayed legs were kept in proper position at all times. Worth noting & informed her owner to get a rug.
After 1hr of blowdry on the top side, it is time to dry her on the underneath. She never struggle even once.
Enjoying her spa…
One of the easiest bunnies to groom. She is not ticklish on any part of her body & nvr struggled. ♡
At the end of the boarding period, the owner kept me updated with the changes to her living conditions. So sweet of her! I always love updates becuz I would miss the rabbits when they get home. =*)
They expanded with a playpen arnd her cage, gave her a mat to stand/rest & offered hay where she can eat more comfortably =)
Her owner is really such a sweet loving lady. I am always so relieved whenever I see owners who cares so much abt their pets. It does tell a lot abt a person’s character. =)
I was sitting in my bunny room, leaning against the wall.
Twinkle hopped over and laid in the small gap between the wall and my back.
About 5mins after, Olla hopped over to busybody. And she decided to squeeze in as well.
LOL! I feel so loved. And it is Valentines Day today!
The view on the other side.
Doesnt this deserve an AWWWW moment????
But it was almost immediately when senior Twinkle decided to get jealous, so he chased her away by biting her butt. And they both ran to the other corner of the room for 《Round 2 FIGHT》.
Olla, always forgiving & eager to please, she flattened her body to the floor as a sign of surrender… while Twinkle stood tall over her. Then he laid his head down, asking to be groomed. And Olla willingly licked his head.
And this was how peace was restored back into the Bunny Kingdom.
And they lived happily ever after.

Boarding Period: 5.5 days
Rabbits: Blablu (Male, 5yrs old, brown) & Jackie (Male, 5yrs old, Grey White)
Sterilized: No (both, but I have advised owner to consider sterilization)
Health Conditions: Both visually looked healthy. Both has mild sore hocks. Blablu has broken front teeth & has difficulty chewing.
Special Note: Both never had water to drink & only got their water intake from veggies. Both eat human food (eg: muruku, meat, rice, sambal chicken, etc). 1st day of boarding, I noticed their poop looked weird and has a very pungent smell. I was determined to train both rabbits to get on a rabbit diet.
Yes, u hv read correctly. I was told that both rabbits have been eating human food. And have never been fed water.
Before boarding, I have alrdy advised the owner on a proper rabbit diet & she reverted that both rabbits have rejected all kinds of hay & pellets previously. Still, I informed them that I will try to get them on a healthy rabbit diet during their stay with me.
On the 1st day of boarding, I gave them hay and pellets. And offered water in their veggie plate.
Jackie immediately went for the hay & pellets. But never drank water from the bowl.
Blablu immediately went for the water and drank a lot. He nibbled at the hay but couldnt chew properly becuz of his teeth problem, so he gave up & nvr touched it after that.
I tried all kind of methods to get Blablu to eat pellets (cant train him to eat hay becuz of his teeth issue). Had to slowly do a mix of pellets & his usual human food. Initially, he rather starve himself.
But by the 3rd day of boarding, I am super happy when he finally accepted the taste of pellets together with his usual human food.
By the 4th day, I offered only pellets & I guess he finally relented and ate all the pellets. Good boyyyyyy ♡
Jackie also learnt how to drink water from his veggie bowl after I squeezed some veggie juice into it. Awesome! But the water has to be changed every few hours becuz I didnt want him to drink veggie water that has gone bad.
Now some grooming photos!
Blablu ran around the corridor for 30mins before I brought him for a quick warm shower.
He was a calm little bunny during the whole grooming process.
But he had a lot of matted fur, so I had to spend lots of time on him… gently getting rid of all the matts.
After grooming……. handsome manly bunny! Lolll dont u think he has a gentle manly charm????
Now, for Jackie!
He also calmly allowed me to groom him. Probably felt so clean & refreshed after the warm shower.
Soothing the bunny before I start grooming.
After a few minutes, he started to relax…. see his eyes were half-closed. Hahaha
Jackie trying to crawl back onto my leg… such a sweetheart! I had to put him back on the grooming table quite a few times before he agreed to sit there.
Smart looking bunny after grooming!
Then he decided to snooze on the cool floor.
These 2 bunnies are paper-trained. Omg cute, right????
The only down side is that they sometimes overshoot & pee would land on the floor. Poop was also unable to contain within the newspaper as they hop arnd or dig on it.
So, I advised owner to get a large litterbox and train them to hop in to do their business. Should be easy becuz these 2 bunnies alrdy kw what to do. =)
Both bunnies also showed great improvements. Their poop looked normal & the smell wasnt so pungent anymore.
Happy tears! Happy tears!
More random photo memories of Blablu The Manly Bunny!
Somehow I just happen to take more photos of Blablu, even though Jackie has pretty fur color. I also dont kw why. =( But I must make it a point to take more photos of Jackie if they come for boarding again!!!!!
2 days after they went home, I did a follow-up with the owner & am happy to kw that they hv continued to follow the rabbit diet!
It is such a sense of accomplishment to kw that I hv helped make a difference. I hope that whoever reads this blog will be able to learn something from it as well, if you are facing similar problems with your bunny. =)
Here he is again! The neatest bunny I have ever boarded. Lol
He seems to remember my place and the minute his owner placed him into my playpen, he immediately went to flop in a corner. No signs of stress at all.
The first time he came for boarding, he was having gut stasis.
This time round, he was still showing some signs of soft poop which still got his fur a little stained.
But after grooming him on his last day of boarding, he was clean again! Also the easiest bunny to groom. He lays very still during the entire grooming session. Lol thanks, buddy.
Outdoor grooming with scenery.
I am glad that he still has been eating lots of hay since his last boarding.
I always miss this little sweetie when he goes home, but his owner has been very nice to send me constant updates after he returned home.
I hope you get well soon! ❤
I was bidding my goodbyes when I witnessed a fire broke out at a baby shower.
2 grown men tried to put out the fire on the tablecloth that was set alight by the catering burner.
1 blew at it non-stop which fed oxgen to the fire & made it spread. 1 used another part of the tablecloth to try and smoother the fire & set fire to that part of the tablecloth. And then the first guy used a plastic plate to ‘slap’ the fire & set THAT plastic plate on fire.
And I was standing at the back… watching the people arnd me frantic around and ppl gasping… thinking “omg the fire grew… omg the tablecloth is on fire… omg now the plastic plate is on fire… omg the fire the spreading… omg it’s never going to be put out…”
And then an old lady walked over slowly & poured a cup of water on the fire…. and the fire went out.
The hero was a 60yr old woman.
Thanks for the last minute drama.
That made my day.
A true fictional story strip of my TURF! (haha mind is blown)
Twinkle: Who’s there??? I smell another bunny in the house.
Me: Don’t be a kaypoh, Twinkle. It’s just another boarding bunny. Haven’t you gotten used to it by now? Go and sleep.
Twinkle: Is that stranger bunny going to invade my territory?!?!?!
Ulla Olla: Twinkle! Fall back into formation! As long as we stick together, no bunny shall pass into our TURF!
Twinkle: You are right, Olla! Fall in!
The Sleeping Formation of TURF. No bunny shall ever sleep alone.
